All walks are usually 4 – 5 miles in length and will not involve any strenuous climbs. The walks are generally within a 20 mile radius of the Heatons and are led by a number of different people from within the group. Walking boots and waterproof clothes are required and we take a picnic lunch.

We meet at the United Church by 9.30 am, to be given directions to the start of the walk and to arrange car sharing. Passengers make a contribution towards the cost of petrol at a current rate of 10p per mile.

The dates of the walks for the first half of 2026 are given below. The location of the walks is decided by the walk leader and details including the difficulty of the walk are given when known by email, see below, and by announcement at the prior coffee morning. In addition, longer and more strenuous walks of 6 or 7 miles and involving some uphill walking will take place on the first Tuesday of the month during the months May to October. See our Walking - Middlers Plus group page for more information.
